2 Week Curse (The Ten Realms series) by Michael Chatfield

Length: 566 pages

Rating: 9 out of 10

Recommend: Yes. Definitely recommend you read this!

This is a well-written book with an easy to read feel to it. The series features two main characters Erik and Rugrat and follows their journey through the "ten realms". This first book in the series is a fantastic introduction to this new world and does a great job introducing the story and setting the scene.

The game aspect of the story is done really well, it comes across as a natural part of life in the ten realms and the author does not have the characters always checking their status' unlike some other stories where the main character is checking it constantly.

As you follow the story it is like you are following along the journey of Erik through the ten realms. You get to see the good parts and bad parts. The story has a good pace, however, there are places, which are important, where the pace of the story slows so that important aspects are told.

Overall, I would thoroughly recommend reading this book and other books in this series. The story is amazing and has a fantastic pace to it, you never get bored reading it. The ninth realm is coming out on March 29th and is available on Amazon for £3.71 or Kindle Unlimited.

Book blurb

Erik West is an ex-combat medic. He and his best friend, Marine recon sniper Jimmy 'Rugrat' Rodriguez, have been thrown into another world. They've become one of the "cursed." Now they have to figure out this fantasy world, where cultivation, skills, and abilities must be grown... or death awaits.

Ascension is just around the corner, whatever that means. But they'll need to master magic and temper their bodies to survive. In a world where your personal strength is your greatest value, Erik and Rugrat have to start from the bottom. But they've cut their teeth in conflicts all across Earth, and honed their skills over years of training while creating a bond and upholding their honors and oaths.

It's not a question of if they are ready for the ten realms, but instead are the ten realms ready for them?
